The Community Events of a Hitman Summer
How Hitman players spent the off-season
The 2025 Roulette Rivals World Championship is the newest installment of the primary Hitman tournament series, hosted by Frote7’s Speedrun Community. If you’re unfamiliar with the rules of roulette, be sure to check out the introductory articles on the basics.
For a long time, the small gaps between the four yearly Roulette Rivals tournaments (and a gradual dip in motivation) meant the community often went quiet outside of RR weeks. But with the 2025 schedule featuring only three, longer main events, the now-vacant summer months became the perfect space for the return of exciting unofficial competitions. This article recaps the three head-to-head community events of the summer, along with a fan-favorite speedrun competition that made its comeback in August.
Wacky Roulette 2
Wacky Roulette is a tournament originally created by Crazy4Daisy, later voted Best Community Event at the 2024 RR Awards. Players thoroughly enjoyed the unique twist of the format: the use of consumable cards between maps. For a 2025 sequel, the Providence server expanded on the idea, adding a wider range of cards and a trading system.
This summer’s edition featured 21 participants in a four-week double-elimination bracket, producing close matches throughout. Twelve First-to-6 games went to five maps, with two extending all the way to a sixth map and an untimed decider: Alph vs magicdave94 and ChrisX3 vs Meekah. Blithe made a strong return after more than two years away, finishing fourth after falling to ChrisX3, who secured the bronze medal. The Grand Final saw the community’s top two players, Scruffy and Moo, face off, with Moo ultimately taking the Wacky title 9–5.

Roulette Divisions - Season 6
For the past year and a half, Roulette Divisions has served as the primary way to practice between Roulette Rivals in a competitive setting. Its short matches in small groups let players face opponents of similar experience, with every game carrying stakes that could determine promotion or relegation.
Season 6 saw the introduction of Division D, with 20 players signing up to prepare for RRWC 2025. In the top flight, one player stood apart from the rest: Scruffy went undefeated to claim his first Divisions title, finishing ahead of a five-way tie at two wins and three losses.
In Division B, Meekah and Pigiero finished first and second, earning promotion to Division A for the first time in their careers. Division C was won by Falcon following a decider match, while Division D ended in an identical tie between AlexHiller and GiggsRH at the top. It is uncertain whether Divisions will return for a seventh season, but if not, it ended with an entertaining season on all levels.
Ghost Mode Tournament 5
The Ghost Mode tournaments brought the first live-streamed event exposure to Frote7’s Speedrun Community back in 2019 and 2020. But once the Ghost Mode servers were shut down ahead of Hitman 3’s release, opportunities to play the mode became severely limited.
While community Ghost Mode events have appeared sporadically in other servers, this summer marked a return to the server where it all began: Yannini hosted Ghost Mode Tournament V, continuing the series from the first four canonical tournaments of F7SC.
Unlike the two roulette events, GMT is still ongoing and is expected to conclude on Sunday, September 28th. Nineteen players entered at the group stage, with twelve advancing to a single-elimination bracket. First-time Ghost Mode competitors such as lukedotpng, Zebulaus, and Scruffy impressed with strong runs to the quarter-finals, but the title will ultimately be decided between veteran champions in the two semi-finals: Redfox vs In4Fun and MrMike vs Yannini.
Saturday Night SASO Races
The term Hitman Summer didn’t originate from roulette or Ghost Mode tournaments, but from the speedrun community. Renewed motivation to compete brought back the Saturday Night SASO Races, more than three years after ThatObserver’s original run.
In this weekly event, commonly known as SNSASO, players simultaneously stream their Silent Assassin, Suit Only speedrun attempts. Over four weeks, points are awarded based on real-time finishing positions in differently themed races: a Season 1 week, a Season 2 week, a Season 3 week, and a Trilogy week.
After seven weeks, Rekt remains untouchable, winning every single race so far. Interestingly, seven different players have taken second place, including RR champions Moo, Scruffy, and Yannini. Full results and VODs are available in a public spreadsheet, with most races casted by Veggerby or Zebulaus.
As most of the summer’s community events conclude or near their finales, attention now turns to the highlight of the year: the 2025 Roulette Rivals World Championship. Sign-ups opened today and will remain open until Thursday, October 2nd. Following that, over the course of 7.5 weeks, the world’s best roulette player will be crowned champion.
